Optimization of Extraction Process for Volatile Oil from Bupleuri Radix by Supercritical CO Fluid Extraction Combined Steam Distillation
Objective: To optimize process conditions of volatile oil from Bupleuri Radix by supercritical CO2 fluid extraction combined steam distillation. Method: Extraction process was optimized by single factor tests and orthogonal design by taking yield of volatile oil as index
some factors were investigated such as temperature
time and pressure of extraction and separation kettle
GC-MS was adopted to identify difference of chemical components in volatile oil by different methods. Result: Optimum extraction conditions were as follows:CO2 velocity about 20 kg·h-1
pressures of extraction kettle
separation kettle I and II were 20
12 and 6 MPa
temperatures were 35
40 and 25 ℃
respectively.Compared with steam distillation(0.07%)
yield of volatile oil with combination increased by 20 times and chemical components were similar to each other. Conclusion: This optimized process was simple and feasible
which could significantly improve yield of volatile oil from Bupleuri Radix.
