Optimization of Extraction Technology of Total Tannins from Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix and Investigation of Its Hygroscopicity
Objective: To optimize extraction process of total tannins in Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix and investigate its hygroscopicity. Method: The content of total tannins was determined by complexometric titration. Taking extracting amount of total tannins as index
extraction temperature was selected by single factor test
orthogonal test was adopted to optimize extraction process with acetone concentration
extracting times and solid-liquid ratio as factors.Total tannins powder was placed in environment with constant temperature
humidity and pressure
weight change was measured periodically to investigate its hygroscopic properties. Result: Optimum extraction process was as following:extracted thrice with five times the amount of 30% acetone for 30 min each time;average extracting amount of total tannins was 102.8 mg· g-1 with RSD of 1.25%.Critical relative humidity of total tannins in Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix was about 50%
it reached hygroscopic balance after 24 h in the environment with constant temperature
humidity and pressure. Conclusion: Optimized extraction process was stable and feasible
total tannins in Polygoni Cuspidati Rhizoma et Radix had strong hygroscopicity.
