Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents from the ethyl acetate and buthanol fractions of ethanol extract of the leaves of Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma. Method: The compounds were isolated by ODS chromatography and preparative HPLC

and their structures were elucidated on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic methods including MS

1D and 2D NMR spectral techniques. Result: Ten compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate and buthanol fractions of ethanol extract of the leaves of Polygonati Odorati Rhizoma

and they were identified as vanillic acid(1)

trans-p-hydroxycinnamic acid(2)

cis-3-hexenyl-β-D-glucopyranoside(3)

N-trans-p-hydroxyphenethyl coumaramine(4)

N-trans-p-hydroxyphenethyl ferolamine(5)

apigenin(6)

chrysoeriol(7)

adenosine(8)

saponarin(9)

isovitexin(10). Conclusion: All compounds were obtained from the leaves of this plant for the first time

and compounds 1-4

8 and 10 were firstly isolated from genus Polygonatum.
