Effects of Different Elicitors on Plant Secondary Metabolism
Objective: To investigate responding mechanism of plants to elicitors. Method: Select yeast extract
ultraviolet-C(UV-C)
low-temperature and heavy metals as research object
which had high retrieval frequency in science citation index(SCI).Effects of these four elicitors on plant secondary metabolism were comprehensive analyzed for summary. Result: Yeast extract
UV-C
low-temperature and heavy metals can induce or inhibit specific metabolism in plants
and produce corresponding secondary metabolic compounds in response to external stress. Conclusion: Secondary metabolism in plants is a self-protective mechanism to deal with various elicitors from environment
synthesis and accumulation of secondary metabolites plays an important role in improving resistance of plants.Elicitors can improve productivity of secondary metabolites which are tend to have certain biological activities and pharmacological value in plants.
