Effects of Compound Aloe Gel on Rats Model of Radioactive Dermatitis
Objective: To investigate the effect of compound aloe vera gel on radioactive dermatitis in rats by establishing the animal model of Ⅱ degree radioactive dermatitis rats. Method: SD rat models of Ⅱ degree radioactive dermatitis were established by changing radiation modes
with rats as the experimental animals and on the basis of collecting and concluding all relevant literatures. These rats were divided into model group
normal group (matrix)
positive drug group (triethanolamine cream
400 g·kg-1)
compound aloe vera gel high dose group
middle dose group and low dose group (600
400
200 g·kg-1). After 2 weeks
the pharmacodynamics study of compound aloe vera gel was done with wound healing rate
wound morphological observation and wound histological observation as the outcome measures. Result: Compared with the normal group
the model group had larger wound redness and swelling area
more wound discharges
no scars and lower healing rate (P<0.01). Compared with the model group
the wound healing rate in triethanolamine cream group
compound aloe vera gel high and middle dose groups was significantly increased (P<0.01)
and these groups could accelerate wound healing and reduce wound discharges. Histopathology examination showed that the wound injury was obvious in model group
but triethanolamine cream group
compound aloe gel high
middle dose groups can reduce the damage of wound. Conclusion: High and middle dose compound aloe vera gel and triethanolamine cream have equivalent therapeutic effect in rats with radiation dermatitis.
