Preparation and Evaluation of Ershiwuwei Feibing Pellets with High Drug Loading
Objective: To prepare Ershiwuwei Feibing pellets with high drug loading for improve compliance and absorption of this Tibeten medicine
and investigate its properties. Method: Extrusion-spheronization method was employed to prepare pellets.Taking content ratio of craw drug and microcrystalline cellulose

yield and spherical degree of pellets as indexes
central composite design-response surface methodology was used to optimize preparation process.Micromeritic properties and in vitro dissolution of this pellets were determined. Result: Optimum formulation was as following:medicine materials powder-microcrystalline cellulose(2.7:1)

rolling speed of 39.5 Hz and rolling time of 5 min.Cumulative release rate of hydroxysafflor yellow A was up to 80% in 60 min
cumulative release rate of alantolactone was four times as high as that of the commercial products. Conclusion: Extrusion-spheronization technique can prepare Ershiwuwei Feibing pellets with excellent quality
it has good roundness and high yield with impressive in vitro dissolution of two index components.
