Isolation and Identification of Chemical Constituents from Stems of
Objective: To study the chemical constituents from the stems of Datura metel. Method: The compounds were isolated and purified by silica gel and ODS chromatogram columns together with semi-preparative HPLC. The structures of the isolated compounds were identified by 1H-NMR and 13 C-NMR as well as HR-ESI-MS data. Result: Fourteen compounds were isolated from the ethyl acetate fraction of the 70% ethanol extract from the stems of D. metel
12-trihydroxyoctadecenoic acid methyl ester (14). Conclusion: Compounds 1 and 8 were isolated from the plants of Solanaceae for the first time and compounds 2 - 5 were isolated from Datura genus for the first time.
