strong in specificity and negative in interference; saikosaponin A was detected in the range from 0.050 4-0.352 6 mg·mL-1 indicating good linear relationship(r=0.999 7); the mean sample recovery rate was 96.17% and the RSD was 0.18%

and saikosaponin D in the range from 0.034 6 -0.242 3 g·L-1 indicating good linear relationship(r=0.999 3)

the mean sample recovery rate was 96.22% and the RSD 0.16%. Conclusion: The TLC method and HPLC are simple and accurate in operation
