10 d(continuous administration). Result: 0.78-50 mg· L-1 total flavones of E. leptorrhizum Stearn can promote proliferation of hFOB1.19 osteoblast by single administration after 72 h. The max proliferation rate is 132.32%. 0.78 mg· L-1 total flavones can also promote the ALP secretion obviously. Total flavones of E. leptorrhizum Stearn has no influence on hFOB1.19 osteoblast by continuous administration at 1-4 d
but shows a different degree of promoting effect after 7 d. From 0.78 to 25.0 mg· L-1
the effect presents an obvious dose relationship. With the further increase of drug concentration
the cell proliferation no longer increasing

Conclusion: The total flavones of E. leptorrhizum Stearn can promote hFOB1.19 osteoblast proliferation and ALP secretion. It shows that the promotion of osteoblast activity by total flavones of E. leptorrhizum Stearn maybe a pathway of prevention and treatment of osteoporosis.
