Objective:To study the effect of ethanol extracts from Euphorbia humifusa on monilial vaginitis in rats. Method:After the candidal vaginitis model establishment

ethanol extracts from E. humifusa was intragastrically administered daily for 7 days.Candida albicans of the vaginal exudates were cultured and analyzed. The levels of MCP-1and MIP-2 in vaginal lavage fluid were detected by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay(ELISA)method. The pathological changes of vaginal tissue were examined under light microscope. Result:E. hmuifusa ethanol extracts inhibited the C. albicans significantly (P<0.001) and decreased the MCP-1and MIP-2 levels in vaginal lavage fluid remarkably. In addition

the ethanol extracts ameliorated the vaginal pathological changes significantly (P<0.001). Conclusion: E. humifusa ethanol extracts has remarkable antifungal activity by inhibiting the C. albicans.
