Objective:To analyze the chemical components of the essential oil from different parts of the Ilex hainanensis and provide scientific basis for its quality control. Method: The volatile oil from the leaves
stem of I. hainanensis was obtained by steam distillation and analyzed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. The relative content was determined by area normalization. Result: Twenty-four components were identified from the stem
in which accounting for 94.97% of total volatile oil. 33 components were identified from the leaves
in which accounting for 98.48% of total volatile oil. Stems and leaves contain volatile oil composition of compounds:furfural
