Objective: To establish the HPLC chromatographic fingerprint analysis for the quality control of Phyllanthus urinaria. Method: RP-HPLC Method was applied to establish the chromatographic fingerprint.Corilagin was used as the internal reference peak.The separation was performed on a Kromasil C18 column (4.6 mm×250 mm
5 μm) with a gradient elution composed of acetonitrile and 0.1% phosphate acid(0.1∶100).The column temperature was set at 30 ℃ and the flow rate was 1.0 mL·min-1.The detective wavelength was at 280 nm. Hierarchical clustering analysis was performed with SPSS 16.0.similarity of HPLC fingerprint was performed on the Similarity evaluation system for chromatographic fingerprint of traditional Chinese medicine(2009). Result: Twenty-one characteristic peaks were established in the fingerprint
and six peaks were identified. 14 batches s of P. urinaria. could be divided into two grades through the results of hierarchical clustering analysis. The mutual model was established and the similarities were calculated.The similarity of 12 samples in all the 14 samples was more than 0.90. Conclusion: The method is simple and accurate with good reproducibility. It can be used for the quality control of P. urinaria.
