Objective: To study the fingerprints correlated with pharmacological effect on the basis of LC-MS fingerprint and data of Radix Paeoniae Alba and Radix Paeoniae Rubra
in order to definite the effective compounds of decreasing apoptosis induced by lipopolysaccharide in the alveolar macrophages. Method: The inherent connections were studied between LC-MS fingerprint and decreasing apoptosis of Radix Paeoniae Alba and Radix Paeoniae Rubra
which was induced by lipopolysaccharide in the alveolar macrophages
with partial least squares regression (PLSR). Result: Effective compounds consist of five peaks X8
X10
X3
X7
X13of the fingerprint play the most important role in the decreasing apoptosis induced by lipopolysaccharide in the alveolar macrophages. Conclusion: The 'effective compounds’are the key of quality evaluation of traditional Chinese medicine and can provide comparatively comprehensive information of Chinese medicine.
