Objective: To investigate the effect of liguzinediol on the hemodynamics in acute heart failure rats. Method: Forth rats were intravenously injected pentobarbital through a micro-infusion pump and randomly divided into 5 groups: saline control group (NS)

20 mg·kg-1). The heart contractile founctions such as left ventricular systolic pressure (LVSP)
maximal rising and falling rate of ventricular pressure (±dp/dtmax)
systolic arterial pressure (SAP)
diastolic arterial pressure (DAP)
heart rate (HR) were measured using a RM6240B/C four channel physiological recording instrument. Result: Liguzinediol induced significant increases of LVSP
+dp/dtmax
-dp/dtmax
and SAP. Conclusion: Liguzinediol induces a positive inotropic effect on the heart in acute heart failure rats.
