Objective: To investigate the chemical constituents from Prunella vulgaris. Method: The compounds were separated by using various kinds of chromatography and their structures were identified on the basis of chemical and spectroscopic methods. Result: Eight compounds were isolated from the spikes of P. vulgaris. Their structures were established as 2α

rotundic acid 28-O-α-D-glueopyranosyl(l→6)-β-D-glueopyranoside (2)

α-spinasterone (8). Conclusion: Compounds 1-3 were isolated from this genus for the first time.
