Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effect of Huazhuo granules on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease and insulin resistance in rat model of hepatosteatosishigh. Method: Rat model of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease was induced by feeding high fat diet for 8 weeks
and then the rats were randomized into 4 groups (n=10 each): model group
Huazhuo granules groups (2.025
0.675 g ·kg-1)and positive control group (rosiglitazone 0.35 mg ·kg-1). Another 10 normal rats were used as the normal control. The influence of the treatments on TC
TG
insulin resistance index was investigated. Result: Compared with the model group
Huazhuo granules group and rosiglitazone group showed reduced TG
TC significantly (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Huazhuo granules high-dose group had similar therapeutic effect as that in rosiglitazone group
appeared to be superior to the low-dose. Conclusion: Huazhuo granules can decrase TG
TC in rats with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
thus alleviate pathological changes and lipid metabolism in the rats.
