Objective: To summarize the research progress on chemical components

pharmacological actions and toxicity of Psammosilene tunicoides

and provide useful references for the further research. Method: Recent journals and books for P. tunicoides were reviewed

and the progress of the chemical components

pharmacological actions and clinical utility was summarized. Result: Up to now

the chemical components isolated from P. tunicoides mainly include triterpenoid saponin

cyclopeptide

lactam

etc. Pharmacological references show that it can be used to relieve pain

anti-inflammation

and has certain effect on regulating the immune function. Clinical references show that it is mainly used to deal with fracture

rheumatic arthralgia

and hemorrhagic diseases. Conclusion: The pharmacological research mainly focuses on its anti-inflammation

pain-relieving and hemostasis effect

but seldom research in found for other effects

and the pharmacological mechanisms are not well known yet. We should carry out further studies on mechanism and toxicology

so that we can provide references and basis for the research and development of ethnodrugs.
