Objective: To study the antidepressant effect of spine date seed oil in mice with behavioral despair. Method: Healthy male KM mice were selected and randomly divided into 5 groups: a blank control group
positive control and spine date seed oil of 50
100
200 mg ·kg-1 groups (ig 7 days). By using tail suspension test
forced swimming test and autonomic activity test
the antidepressant effects of spine date seed oil in mice were observed. Result: Different dose groups of spine date seed oil could significantly reduce the immobility time of mice during the forced swimming test and the tail suspension test
compared with those in the control group(P<0.05
P<0.01). Conclusions: The spine date seed oil possesses antidepressant effect.
