Objective: To establish the quality standard of licorice juice as a processing excipient. Method: TLC identification
routine testing and determination by HPLC of ten batches of licorice juice were performed. Result: The identification method of licorice juice was established with both ammonium glycyrrhizate and liquiritin as reference substances for the first time. The content data of ash and soluble solid was obtained. The concentration data of glycyrrhizic acid and liquiritin was obtained. Conclusion: For the first time the research on quality standard of licorice juice was conducted systematically and the established standard can be used to control the quality of licorice juice as a processing excipient.
