Objective: Tp investigate the clinical efficacy of Tongmai Zhitong Fang and nimodipine in the treatment of migraine. Method :Sixty-two migraine patients were randomly divided into treatment group (n=40) and control group (n=22)
the control group were treated with nimodipine 40 mg
3 times a day
orally
4 weeks for a course of treatment. Based on the use of nimodipine in the control
patients in the treatment group were treated with Tongmai Zhitong Fang additionally (one dose divided in two times daily). Before and after treatment
the total effective rate and the maximum blood flow velocity (Vs) of bilateral middle cerebral artery (MCA) in that two groups were compared. Result :The total effective rate was 85% in the treatment group
total effective rate was 63.6% in the control group
the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). After treatment
in the two groups Vs were significantly decreased
compared with that before treatment the difference was significant (P<0.01)
the effect in treatment group was more obvious (P<0.01). Conclusion :Tongmai Zhitong Fang combined with nimodipine has significant effect for the treatment of migraine.
