The optimal process of extracting total flavonoids from Fructus Forsythia was studied by single factor test and orthogonal test. The absorption of total flavonoids was determined by uv-spectrophotometry and the standard curve was used to calculate the content. The results showed that the optimum conditions for extracting the total flavonoids assisted by ultrasonic wave are as follow: 60 %ethanol
ultrasonic time 15 min and ultrasonic temperature 60℃.The optimazed method is stable and efficient
the rate of total flavonoids extracted is up to2.58%
