Abstract
Objective: To investigate the effects of Xiaoer Zhike Granule on airway hyperresponsiveness and inflammation in asthmatic rats. Method: The rat model was performed by intraperitoneal injection of 1mL A1(OH)3 gel containing OVA 100 mg and 1mL NS containing BCG vaccine 3 mg. The rats were constructed by immunization of intraperitoneal injection on the 0 day and the 7th day
and the experiment was performed on the 15th day
while giving Xiaoer Zhike Granule high
medium and low doses (15.7

3.925 g ·kg-1 respectively). On the 22th day airway resistance rats was tested. The content of serum HMGB-1 and IgE

IL-13 in lung homogenate were determined. Result: Xiaoer Zhike Granule at high
medium and low doses could inhibit airway pressure in rats ( P <0.01)
it could inhibit the increasing in serum HMGB-1 and lung homogenate IgE content ( P <0.05
0.01). The high and medium doses could inhibit the content increasing of lung homogenate IL-13
IL-4 ( P <0.01). Conclusion: Xiaoer Zhike Granule can lower airway responsiveness in asthma rats by inhibiting inflammation

so that it can treat pediatric coughing after upper respiratory tract infection.
