Objective To study the absorption characteristics of Notoginsenoside R1 influenced by density
energy and p-glycoprotein with rat non-everted gut sac system. Methods Different concentration of Notoginsenoside R1 was immersed into Rat non-everted gut sac
and the absorption difference was compared. 2-nitropenol
a metabolic inhibitor
was used to study the influence of energy on the absorption of Notoginsenoside R1. Verapamil
a p-glycoprotein inhibitor
was used to study the influence of p-glycoprotein on the absorption of Notoginsenoside R1. Results The Notoginsenoside R1 concentration in the sac was increasing according to the time. It is obvious that 2-nitropenol affect the absorption of Notoginsenoside R1. Verapamil had no effect on the absorption of Notoginsenoside R1 in sac system. Conclusion The absorption mechanism of Notoginsenoside R1 might be passive diffusion. Notoginsenoside R1 might not be the substrate of p-glycoprotein.
