Objective: To observe the clinical effect of the treatment with Danhong Injection in the patients with vascular dementia. Method: All 80 patients with vascular dementia were randomly divided into Danhong Injection in the treatment group and ginkgoleaf Extract and dipyridamole injection in the control group

the plasma viscosity and the content of ET-1 in plasma and NO in serum improvement were better than the control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01). Conclusion :The Danhong Injection treatment of vascular dementia have a better clinical effect

the mechanism may be related to reducing the blood viscosity

and promoting cerebral microcirculatory endothelium to excrete NO

while decreasing ET-1

and improving the balance between vasodilator and vasoconstrictor to protect the brain microvascular endothelial cell function.
