Objective: To investigate the Effects of sesamin on the metabolism of ethanol. Method: : ①Sprague-Dawley rats were administrated intragastrically with sesamin at a dose of 8
23
70 mg ·kg-1
respectively.After 15d of treatment
ethanol was administrated intragastrically. Blood samples were collected according to the regular time schedule after sesamin administration through vena caudalis. The concentration of norfloxacin was determined by automatic immunoassay analyzer. ②Mice were administrated intragastrically with sesamin at a dose of 10
33
100 mg ·kg-1
respectively. After 7d of treatment
ethanol of 2.5g ·kg-1 was administrated by intra peritoneal injection. Locomotor activity was measured according to the regular time schedule after ethanol was administrated. ③Mice were administrated intragastrically with sesamin at a dose of 10
33
100 mg ·kg-1
respectively. After 7d of treatment
ethanol of 3.5g ·kg-1 was administrated by peritoneal injection. Duration of loss of righting reflex was measured after ethanol was administrated. Result :①Seamin at the dose of 23mg ·kg-1 and 70mg ·kg-1 can reduce the blood concentration of ethonal in mice.②Seamin at the dose of 33mg ·kg-1 and 100mg ·kg-1 can increase the locomotor activity induced by ethanol in mice. ③Seamin at the dose of 33mg ·kg-1 and 100mg ·kg-1 can shorten the ethanol-induced duration of loss of righting reflex in mice. Conclusion: Seamin can accelerate the metabolism of ethanol.
