Objective: To establish an HPLC method for determination the content of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid in crude hawthorn berry. Method: The HPLC analysis was carried out through C18 column with detection wavelength set at 210 nm and the temparature set at 35 ℃. The mobile phase was composed of MeOH-H2O-H3PO4-TEA (87 ∶13 ∶0.2 ∶0.04)at a flow rate of 0.9 mL ·min-1. Result: The separation of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid was 1.4; the methodologic validation conformed to requirement of liquid chromato-graphy. The content of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid in crude hawthorn berry was more than 0.5 mg ·g-1 and 1.9 mg ·g-1
respectively. Conclusion: The HPLC method can be used in the routine analysis of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid in crude hawthorn berry.
