Objective:To develop a capillary electrophoresis method for determination lovastatin in capsule of monascus.Methods:Capsule of monascus was extracted with methanol.Separation was carried out in an uncoated fused silica capillary(50 μm×60.0 cm).with a running buffer containing 100 mmol·L-1 Tris

0.03% ammonia in methanol.The running voltage of 27 KV and the column temperature was maintained at 20 ℃.The UV detector wavelength was set at 238 nm.Results:Regression equation of lovastatin was Y=3.08×106X-2.08×103(r=0.999 8).The linearity was obtained over the range of 14.625 μg～468 μg.The relative recovery ranged from 96.5%～99.7%.Conclusions:The method is proved to be simple
