To discuss status and proposals of applying proteomics to research essence of liver injury. Looking through the related literatures from home and abroad
then analyzing and compiling them.①Proteomics technique has been applied to many types of liver injury induced by drug
carbon tetrachloride (CCl4)
alcohol
lipopolysaccharides (LPS)
immune related
thioacetamide
radiation
bromobenzene
hydrazine
or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). ②The protein samples for analysis are mainly taken from the animal liver
serum
urine
bile acids
mitochondria
etc. ③Main analyzing tools of proteomics are two-dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE)
Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) and multi-stage MS. ④Research on proteome mechanism of liver injury needs to be strengthened. ⑤Hepatoprotective effect of drugs is not enough through proteomics. We should strengthen researches on essence of liver injury and essence-based hepatoprotection of drugs through proteomics.
