Objective: To establish an HPLC method for the determination of cinnamaldehyde and eugenol in Goupi Gao. Method: The HPLC method was performed on a phenomenex-luna C18(2) (4.6 mm×250 mm
5 μm) at 40℃ and detected at 280 nm. The mobile phase consisted of acetonitrile-0.1% phosphoric acid (45:55) with a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min-1. Result: The linear calibration curves were obtained in the concentration range of 0.141 69-14.169 mg·L-1 for cinnamaldehyde and 1.066 04-106.604 mg·L-1 for engenol. The average recoveries of cinnamaldehyde and engenol were 102.98% (RSD 1.33%) and 95.40% (RSD 0.40%). Conclusion: The method is simple
effective
accurate and reproducible for the determination of cinnamaldehyde and eugenol in Goupi Gao.
