Objective: To investigate the effect of polysaccharide from Spriulnia platensis(PSP)on expression of epidermal growth factor(EGF) and EGF receptor(EGFR) in mucosa of experimental rats with gastric ulcer
and to study the possible mechanism for therapy of stomach ulcer. Method: The gastric ulcer in rats was induced by acetic acid burning and treated with low and high dose of PSP separately for 15 days
the gastric mucosal thickness and muscularis mucosa defect were observed by HE staining
and the expression of EGF and EGFR were detected by immunohistochemical staining. Result: The ulcer in treatment group healed well compared with model group and control group
high dose of PSP could promote the healing of gastric ulcer
