Objective: To analyze the composing principles of the 581 Preferred Ancient Herbal prescriptions collected in the book of'The Prescription of Traditional Chinese Medicine Dictionary' using traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) inheritance system. Method: Input traditional chinese medicine inheritance system
the composing principles were analyzed using the TCM inheritance system after data entry. Result: Based on the analysis on 581 preferred ancient herbal prescriptions
the frequency of each herb included in the databasewas computed and core combinations. Conclusion: The results of this study for future study and research provides reference.
