Objective: To study the character of the microscopic identification and active ingredients' TLC identification of the of the leaves of Dalbergia odorifera. Method: The drug properties
microscopic and TLC identification of the leaves of D. odorifera T.Chen were adopted. Result: The microscopic characteristics of Dalbergia odorifera leaves mainly were that ray cells
paracytic type stomata was mainly on the lower epidermis
and the non-glandular hairs were composed of two cells which were variable size with wall warts significantly.The TLC of the both producing area could be used to detect the isoflavone 6-hydroxy-biochanin A and biochanin A. Conclusion: The method of the microscopic identification and TLC can differentiate the leaves of D. odorifera effectively.
