Objective: To analyze the chemical compositions and their relative content of the petroleum ether immersion of the leaves of Gymnema sylvestre. Method: The chemical compositions of petroleum ether immersion of leaves of Gymnema sylvestre were separated and identified by GC-MS. Result: Thirteen compositions were found and 11 compositions were identified in the petroleum ether immersion. Conclusion: The principal chemical compositions in petroleum ether immersion were n-hexadecanoic acid
