it is aimed at providing the theoretical support for the tetraploid plant of herba Taraxaci application. Methods: The content of total flavones and chlorogenic acid was detected by ultraviolet spectrophotometry. Bacillus paratyphosus were evaluated. Results: Tetraploid plant showed higher level of flavonoid and chlorogenic acid than those of the wild plant. The tetraploid and the wild plant of herba Taraxaci had satisfactory antibacterial activity on four kinds of bacteria. Conclusion: The tetraploid plant of herba Taraxaci would be useful to take the place of medicine herba Taraxaci.
