Objective:To establish a method for the determination of menthol and benzaldehyde in Milian Chuanbei Pipagao by GC with capillary column.Methods:A DB-1 quartz capillary column(0.32 mm×30 m×0.25 μm) was used.The temperature program was as following:the intial temperature of column was kept at 80℃ for 1 min
then raised to 180℃ at the rate of 10℃·min-1
finally to 250℃ at the rate of 25℃· min-1 and maintained the temperature for 5 min.The injection and detection temperature was 220℃ and 260℃.Splitless sampling was used and A FID detector was used.Result:The calibration curves of menthol was obtained with good linear relationship within the range of(3.18~31.8)μg·mL-1(r= 0.999 8)
the recoveries was 98.59%;The calibration curves of benzaldehyde was also obtained with a good linear relationship within the range of(5.25~52.52)μg·mL-1(r= 0.999 9)
the recoveries was 98.27%.Conclusions:This method is simple and accurate
and can be used to control the quality of menthol and benzaldehyde in Milian Chuanbei Pipagao.
