Objective:To analyze the cosmetics-related mechanism of salvia miltiorrhiza and to lay the foundation for the relevant product development. Method: The cosmetics-related mechanism of salvia miltiorrhiza is summarized based on the related literatures and the application prospects of salvia miltiorrhiza in the field of cosmetics are analyzed. Result & Conclusion:Salvia miltiorrhiza has the function of activating blood circulation to remove blood stasis and the function of removing heat from the blood to treat boils. Studies have confirmed that it contains a number of chemical constituents and pharmacologically effective. It is an ideal raw material of traditional Chinese medicine for TCM cosmetics.
