Objective:To establish an HPLC method for determination the content of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid in crude hawthorn berry. Method: The HPLC analysis was carried out through C18 column with detection wavelength set at 210 nm and the temparature set at 35 ℃ . The mobile phase was composed of MeOHH2O-H3PO4-TEA (87∶ 13∶ 0. 2∶ 0. 04) at a flow rate of 0. 9 mL·min -1. Result:The separation of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid was 1. 4; the methodologic validation conformed to requirement of liquid chromato-graphy. The content of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid in crude hawthorn berry was more than 0. 5 mg·g -1 and 1. 9 mg·g -1
respectively. Conclusion:The HPLC method can be used in the routine analysis of Oleanic acid and Ursonic acid in crude hawthorn berry.
