Objective:To study on the antithrombotic effect of bornel.Method:Thrombosis test
platelets aggregation
and determination platelet [Ca2 + ]i were carried out to investigate the effects of borneol on the following indexes:weight of thrombus
the concentration of serotonin in platelets
platelet aggregation rate
and intracellular free calcium concentration in platelets.Result:Ig 140 mg.kg-1 borneol daily for 7 days inhibited arterial thrombosis induced by FeCI3
increased the concentration of serotonin in platelets
and inhibited the platelet aggregation induced by 5-HT(P < 0.05);with or without the presence of extracellular Ca2 +
bornel inhibited the increased [Ca2 + ]i induced by 5-HT.Conclusion:Borneol has anti-thrombosis
and its mechanism may be related to inhibitory effects for the release of platelet 5-HT
for platelet aggregation and for the increase of platelet [Ca2 + ]i.
