Objective:To observe the protective effect of Qifu Yin on the apoptosis in hippocampal neurons in Alzheimer’s disease(AD) rats induced by amyloid-β1-42 injection.Method: Eighty-four SD rats were equally randomly divided into blank control group

8.6 mg.kg-1).The AD model was established by amyloid-β1-42 injection into the bilateral hippocampus.Expression of Bax and Bcl-2 protein in rat brain was estimated by western blotting method.Change of hippocampus is observed by electron microscope.Result:The expression of protein Bax was up-regulated in model group compared with the sham group and Bcl-2 was down-regulated.In Qifu Yin group
the Bax expression was down-regulated and Bcl-2 up-regulated compared with the model group(P < 0.05).Qifu Yin can alleviate the damage of hippocampus neurons.Conclusion:Amyloid-β1-42 injection into the bilateral hippocampus can up-regulate expression of protein Bax and down-regulate expression of Bcl-2 in brain tissue.Qifu Yin inhibits apoptosis through regulating the expression of Bcl-2 and Bax protein in hippocampal.may provide some protective effects on cerebral neurons damage of AD model in rats.
