Objective:To establish a dual-wavelength HPLC method for the determination of ursolic acid and loganin from Cornus officinalis.Method:Octadecyl bonded silica stationary phase Shim-pack VP-ODS column was used.Gradient elution was performed with acetonitrile as mobile phase A
0.02% phosphoric acid water as mo-bile phase B.The detection wavelength was set at 210 nm and 238 nm.Result:UA was linear in the range of 0.1-2.0 μg
(r = 0.999 9).The average recovery was 99.44%(RSD 0.39%
n = 6).Loganin was linear in the range of 0.08-1.6 μg.(r = 0.999 9).The average recovery was 98.92%(RSD 0.75%
n = 6).Conclusion:The method established was simple
rapid and accurate and could be used for simultaneous determination of ursolic acid and loganin from dogwood.
