Objective: To observe the influence of Sini Powders on interleukin-1 beta(IL-1β) of rats with experimental ulcerative colitis(UC) and effects of so-called the monarch drug and ministerial drug in the prescription.Method: The experimental animals were divided into 5 groups
and modeling was made by immunization.IL-1β levels in rats’ colon mucosal tissues and serum were detected by ELISA.Result: Colon pathological changes with obvious inflammation were found after modeling. The levels of IL-1β in rats of the model group were higher than those in the normal group(P < 0.01).After feeding Chaishaozhi and Chaishao
IL-1β levels of UC rats were obviously reduced(P < 0.05).After feeding Sini Powders
IL-1β levels in UC rats’colon mucosal tissue were markedly reduced(72.62 ± 2.67)ng.L-1
(P < 0.01)
but they were obviously increased in serum(1015.52 ± 176.47)ng.L-1.Conclusion: We speculate that Sini Powders can interfere with experimental UC by adjusting IL-1β levels.Sini Powders may play a role in inhibiting moving of IL-1β from the mononuclear cells in peripheral blood to intestinal mucosa
and the compatibility of the monarch drug and ministerial drug play a role in suppressing secretion of IL-1β.
