Objective:The clinic effects of Shuanghuanglian（freeze-dried）

Acyclovir

Compound Danshen Injection in treating herpes zoster.Method: 90 herpes zoster patients were divided randomly into treated group and control group.For the treated group

patients were treated with Acyclovir Injection 0.5g

Shuanghuanglian（freeze-dried） 3.0g

and Compound Danshen Injection 250 mL

IV drip.Qd as well as Acyclovir ointment

Ext.Qid.For the control group

patients were treated with Acyclovir 0.25g I.V drip

Tid as well as Acyclovir ointment

Ext.Qid.Both groups were treated for one week.Result: 40 patients of 50 were cured in treated group.The cure rate was 96%.In 40 controls

25 were cured.The rate was 85%.By comparing the efficiency of treated and control groups

the difference was statistically significant（P<0.05）.Conclusion: Acyclovir Injection

Shuanghuanglian（freeze-dried） and Compound Danshen Injection are effective in treating herpes zoster with acting quickly in relieving pain

shortening the course

and lowering the incidence of PHN.
