Objective:To optimize preparation process of berberine-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex by central composite design and response surface method.Method:With inclusion ratio and yield of berberine-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex as indexes

results were fitted by multi-linear equation
second-order and third-order polynomial equation
and optimal inclusion process was predicted according to formulation.Result:Multiple correlation coefficients from multi-linear equation were worse
and multiple correlation coefficients from third-order polynomial equation were prior to second order polynomial equation.Optimum inclusion technology of berberine-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex were as follows:ratio of β-CD-berberine 3.65∶1
inclusion time 4.5 h
inclusion temperature 64 ℃.Bias of inclusion rate and yield between observed and predicted values were 3.28% and 2.63% respectively.Conclusion:Using central composite design and response surface methodology to optimize preparation of berberine-β-cyclodextrin inclusion complex had good prediction.
