Objective:To study the hypotensive effect of Wuwei Jiangya Fang to spontaneous hypertensive rats(SHR)
and analyze its blood exposure compositions which would be the effective components.Method: Wuwei Jiangya Fang was extracted with water and administrated to the SHR rats per oral
once a day;the dosage was 2.6 g · kg-1 per day.During the period of the experiment
the tail blood pressure was measured every week.SHR rats were anesthetized and the blood was taken from abdominal aorta. We established the fingerprints of Wuwei Jiangya Fang and its serum compounds with RP-HPLC method
and determined the exposed components which showed antihypertensive efficacy.Result: Wuwei Jiangya Fang showed obvious anti-hypertension effect(P<0.01) when the rats were administered for 2 weeks or longer.Through the analysis to blood multiple component fingerprint
we found that when Wuwei Jiangya Fang showed its antihypertensive effect
certain components which had UV absorption were found in the blood. Conclusion: Wuwei Jiangya Fang showed obvious anti-hypertension effect and certain exposure components of it which showed UV absorption were found in the blood.Further chemical research works were needed to clarify the character of the exposure components.
