Objective: To investigate the effects of ε-viniferin
a natual oligomeric stilbene in grapevines
on the antiangiogenesis in vivo and in vitro. Method: The pharmacodynamic effects of ε-viniferin on the basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)induced migration
the tuber formation and the angiogenesis on endothelial cell line ECV304 in vivo and in vitro. Further
the expression of vascular endothelial growth factor(VEGF)and bFGF in ε-viniferin-treated B16F10 cells were assayed to ensure the effects. Result: ε-viniferin inhibit bFGF induced cell proliferation and migration.ε-viniferin inhibited endothelial cell tube formation by basic fibroblast growth factor in a dose-dependent manner. ε-viniferin also inhibited the angiogenesis in Matrigel plug mouse model. With the increasing of concentration and duration ε-viniferin treatments
bFGF and VEGF content in B16F10 cell cultures were gradually reduced in a dose-and time-dependent. Conclusion: ε-viniferin is a potential agent on angiogenensis.
