Objective: The research was conducted to study the chemical constituents of the rhizome of Matteuccia struthiopteris. Method: The constituents were separated and purified by column chromatography with normal phase silica gel and RP silica gel. Their structures were identified on the basis of physical and chemical properties
in combination of spectral data. Result: Six compounds were isolated and identified as 5
7-dihyd-roxy-6-methyl-4'-methoxydihydroflavone(1)
methoxymatteucin(2)
thunberginol C(3)
demethoxym-tteucinol-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(4)
matteucinol-7-O-β-D-glucopyranoside(5)
gaylussacin(6). Conclusion: All compounds were isolated from this plant for the first time
in which compounds 1 and 4 are new natural products.
