but this effect is limited. Promoting neurogenesis by drugs is an important way for treatment of stroke. In recent years

tetramethylpyrazine(TMP) has received the attention because of its neuroprotection effect

and widely been applied in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases

especially stroke. The effect of TMP on neurogenesis after cerebral ischemia was accessed from Databases

such as Pubmed. In this article

we summarized

analyzed and reviewed the literature. The results showed that TMP significantly promoted neurogenesis by increasing the proliferation

differentiation

especially migration of neural stem cells after cerebral ischemia. This article summarized the possible mechanism of TMP in the prevention and treatment of stroke

also dprovide some useful hints for expand the application of TMP in other neurogenesis disorder related diseases.
