Objective: To observe the apoptosis mechanism of Banxia Xiexin Tang on esophageal carcinoma Eca9706 cells. Method: Flow cytometry technique was used to detect the effect of Banxia Xiexin Tang on cell cycle and apoptosis of esophageal carcinoma Eca9706 cells;Western blot was used to detect the effect of Banxia Xiexin Tang on signal transducer and activator of transcription 3 (STAT3) protein expression of Eca9706 cells. Result: After 24 h of treatment by Banxia Xiexin Tang
the early apoptosis of cells was significantly increased
and cell division was significantly blocked in G0/G1 phase
STAT3 protein expression was reduced after 24 h of treatment by Banxia Xiexin Tang
and the high concentration Tang exhibited the best effect. Conclusion: Banxia Xiexin Tang may have the regulation points between G1
S and G2/M phase to affect cell cycle
and its mechanism of promoting apoptosis of tumor cells may be associated with interfering the expression of STAT3 transcription factors.
