Objective: To study the inhibition effect of compound Tufuling granules (CTG) on uric acid (UA)
activity of xanthine oxidase (XO)
and xanthine dehydrogenase(XDH) mRNA in hyperuricemic rats. Method: The 48 SD rats were randomly divided into normal group
model group
febuxostat group (4 mg · kg-1)
CTG low-dose group
CTG mid-dose group and CTG high-dose group (1
2
4 g · kg-1). Rats in all other groups except normal group were used to establish hyperuricemia (HUA) models and received corresponding drugs for intervention
once a day for 5 days. After experiment
UA of serum
activity of XO
and XDH mRNA in liver were detected. Result: In model group
levels of UA
activity of XO
and XDH mRNA expression levels in liver were significantly higher than normal group (P<0.05). After treatment
levels of UA
activity of XO
and XDH mRNA expression levels were significantly lower in various treatment groups than those in model group (P<0.05)
but there was no significant difference between CTG low dose group and model group. Conclusion: CTG may reduce the UA of serum
and inhibit the activity of XO and XDH mRNA expression level in hyperuricemic rats.
