Objective: To simultaneously determine the content of three components vanillin
coniferyl aldehyde
trans-[tetrahydro-2-(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-5-oxofuran-3-yl] methyl benzoate in the Benzoinum by HPLC. Method: HPLC was performed on a Phenomenex Luna C18(2) (4.6 mm×250 mm
5 μm) column
with methanol and water as the mobile phase for gradient elution. The flow rate was 1 mL·min-1. The detection wavelength was 280 nm. Result: All of the three components achieved baseline separation
with a good linear relationship. The average recovery rate was 99.51%
101.25%
100.71%respectively. Conclusion: This method is sensitive
accurate
reproducible and stable
and so can be used for the determination of the three components in Benzoinum
and provide reference for the quality control over the Benzoinum.
